Triatlones para principiantes

Si éste año te pusiste como objetivo de año nuevo estrenarte como triatleta, pero te sientes perdido como todos nosotros nos sentimos al principio, no te preocupes, aquí te decimos que triatlones están buenos para empezar, y te contamos un poco del resto.

 

¿Cómo calificamos los triatlones? Nos basamos en pensar en quitar el factor pánico del agua y que las rutas de la bici y la carrera sean de preferencia planas.

También es importante considerar la distancia entre tu ciudad y el evento. Si viajas en avión tienes que empacar tu bici o contratar un servicio en alguna tienda de triatlón para que te la manden al destino.

Triatlones para principiantes

Monterrey

Natación. A todos aquellos que les intimida la parte de la natación: éste es el triatlón para ustedes. Los 750 metros o 1500 metros se nadan en un río artificial, que es más bien como una alberca gigante. Tienes 100% de visibilidad y al ponerte en posición vertical, el agua te llega a la cintura.

Bici. Técnica; lo cual quiere decir que si bien es plana, hay muchas vueltas cerradas. Esa podría ser una dificultad si aún no tienes buen dominio de la bici.

Carrera. Es todo plano. El calor y el sol no sofocan en esas fechas.

Querétaro

Éste triatlón tiene distancias diferentes: a) súper sprint en el que nadarás 400 metros, rodarás 10Km, y correrás 2.5Km; y b) corto, en el que nadarás 1Km, rodarás 30Km y correrás 7.5Km. Por esto mismo, está ideal para principiantes que quieren empezar por una distancia cortitita y «probar las aguas» del triatlón y ver si te animas a más.

Natación. Es un lago artificial para practicar ski. La distancia mide exactamente 750 metros. Si te pones en posición vertical el agua llega a la cintura. El agua está un poco lodosa por lo que es más «pesada» a la hora de nadar, y no hay visibilidad.

Bici y carrera. Igual que en Monterrey. Ruta plana, aunque no tiene tantas curvas cerradas.

Mazatlán.

Éste es un buen triatlón para principiantes con natación fuerte.

Natación. Mar con oleaje.

Bici y carrera. Planas, pero con mucho calor.

Triatlones que se piensan para principiantes, o a los que van muchos principiantes, pero tienen retos importantes.

Veracruz.

Natación. Fácil, poco oleaje y visibilidad media.

Bici. Es plana con un viento fuerte del malecón, lo que provoca pedalear duro y sin descanso. Hay que pedalear todo el tiempo con muy buena cadencia.

Carrera. Plana, pero el calor y humedad son como un yunque sobre tu cuerpo. Hay que cuidar mucha la hidratación previa en éste triatlón.

Teques.

Este triatlón, aunque no es fácil, está bien para principiantes porque hay una distancia llamada super-sprint (400 mts nadando, 10 Kms en bici y 2.5 Kms corriendo). ¡Totalmente manejable! También está la distancia «corta» (sube y lee los detalles en el triatlón de Querétaro).

Natación. Nivel medio, visibilidad nula. Prepárate para subir una pendiente bastante inclinada y prolongada para llegar a tu bici.

Bici. Con pendientes ligeras, y una muy pesada de inicio.

Carrera. Hay una pendiente larga y prolongada saliendo de la T2 (transición bici-carrera).

Valle de Bravo.

Uno de los triatlones más antiguos y clásicos. Muchos lo hacen por tener casa en Valle, y llevan bici de montaña, lo cual está permitido, aunque no es ideal porque pesan más que una de ruta.

Natación. Agua helada; a veces hay que usar wetsuit. Algunos salen con dolor de cabeza u oídos.

Bici. Ruta retadora y emocionante con pendientes fuertes y bajadas en curva.

Carrera. Plana y fácil (si aún traes piernas después de la ruta en bici).

Acapulco.

Una de las dificultades de éste triatlón es que la T1 y T2 está separadas, por lo que sí nunca has hecho un triatlón y te estresa la parte de montar transición, aquí tienes que montar dos transiciones diferentes.

Natación y carrera. Fácil y ruta plana

Bici. Saliendo de nadar, y sin decir «agua va» o agarrar vuelo te encuentras con una pendiente muy inclinada dónde mucha gente se baja o se cae. Después viene la bajada en adoquín con apenas dos carriles muy angostos sin adoquín.

Triatlones reto.

Ixtapa.

Natación. No es para nadadores principiantes o no muy valientes. Hay que entrar y salir del mar con olas altas; por lo que cierto conocimiento de cómo clavarte en una ola sería lo ideal. A veces el oleaje está tan fuerte que amenazan con cancelar la parte de la natación.

Bici. Con muchas pendientes prolongadas.

Carrera. Plana, es una ruta muy bonita que rodea un camellón dónde tu porra se puede acomodar muy a gusto bajo la sombra.

Huatulco.

Es un triatlón muy retador y muy divertido si te gustan esos retos. Si eres buen ciclista y corredor, y mal nadador, te encantará.

Natación. Una «alberca» natural hermosa, sin oleaje y con visibilidad al 100% (…por ahí te acompañan los peces por abajo).

Bici. Ruta retadora por las pendientes y bajadas pronunciadas. Necesitas buen manejo de la bici y sus velocidades.

Carrera. Difícil. Con pendientes, una de ellas muy prolongada e inclinada (más de 2Km subiendo sin descanso). El calor no ayuda para nada.

Las Estacas

Natación. Considero que es la más retadora. Nadas 1Km contracorriente en el río cristalino. Si eres buen nadador, ¡te encantará! y tendrás una considerable ventaja.

Bici. ¡Padrísima! Muy balanceada entre pendientes moderadas y terreno plano.

Carrera. Interesante, pues es a campo traviesa, lo cual no es común en triatlones ya que corres en la calle.

Hay muchísimos triatlones organizados por asdeporte y por otros grupos. Es cuestión de investigar y ver cuáles te quedan cómodos en logística también. Aquí te enlisto sólo algunos más

• Mérida.- Es nuevo y con éste abrió la temporada

• Manzanillo

• La Paz.- Es al atardecer

• Ciudad del Carmen

• Cozumel

• Xel-Ha.– Ésta año es el Campeonato Nacional de Triatlón, o sea que hay que calificar para éste triatlón. Esperemos que el próximo año esté abierto al público.

Para mujeres únicamente, hay una modalidad casi en todos los triatlones que se llama «sólo para novatas»: la ruta es diferente y más corta, a veces sólo das vueltas en una alberca. Chécala en cada evento. Yo te aconsejaría que evitaras esa categoría, te entrenes y te animes por un súper sprint o sprint; créeme: ¡lo disfrutarás muchos más!
